McLaren F1 Engines even hotter now!
Rolton Group have been appointed to provide mechanical and electrical design services to Mercedes Benz High Performance Engines, engine supplier to the McLaren Mercedes F1 Team.
Design services relate to modifications and adaptation of an existing Test Rig-Room (one of six Rig Rooms originally designed by Rolton Group in 2006/07), to allow "aging testing" of engine components and assemblies in a heated engine oil bath.
The heated oil bath is installed within a bespoke fume cupboard enclosure.
Rolton Group will review and provide professional design services relating to the following project elements:-
Modification of the existing mechanical building services ventilation systems & ductwork, including specification of replacement high performance filters as necessary.
Associated with the above the building management system and graphical displays will be modified to suit the new installations.
Modification to the existing small power, fire detection & alarm and interfacing plus other ancillary services such as fire suppression systems and BMS links.
Rig-Room building fabric / structure & specialist stainless steel wall cladding finish will be altered and made good.
