St John Fisher RC School Envelope Integrity Testing Complete

The test was carried out on 17th October '08 to performance requirements & specification details prepared by Rolton Group who are Building Services Consultant on the project. The testing was carried out by specialist contractor CPS Energy Compliance on behalf of the main contractor for the project Kier Group (Eastern).

The Building Regulations Part L requires a maximum of 10.0 cu.m/hour/sq.m of building envelope to achieve a pass.

The newly constructed teaching block test results achieved showed a pressure lost equivalent to 5.7 cu.m/hour/sq.m of building envelope, some 43% better that Part L requirements.

Whilst the new sports hall facility test results achieved showed a pressure lost equivalent to 3.07 cu.m/hour/sq.m of building envelope, almost 70% better that Part L requirements.

The measurements were carried out to QA procedures recognised by Building Control Officers for Part L compliance. The tests were performed by CPS Energy Compliance to ATTMA TS1 (Technical Standard 1), which complies with the current Building Regulations Part L.

The envelope integrity test is a mandatory requirement of the Building Regulations for all new build constructions and is required prior to the local authority Building Control issuing their completion/final certificate.

Rolton Group Ltd would like to congratulation Kier Group (Eastern) on constructing two new buildings in such a manner that has allowed the achievement of excellent results in the recent envelope integrity testing.
