We are looking for an Associate to join the existing Mechanical & Electrical Building Services (MEP) team that provides engineering support to several Blue-Chip International Brands. Experience within the automotive, commercial/industrial, retail, residential and education sectors are essential with experience with steam and in clean/dry rooms is desirable.

The successful candidate will be responsible, under the leadership of the Director, for the project management of medium to large scale projects and individual engineering task(s) for numerous schemes for client’s cross sector. This will include the creation, development of and finalising engineering design solutions of electrical services elements, working with other team members and project teams together with direct liaison with the client and other design team professionals.
The candidate shall have experience across the breadth of mechanical building services such as:
- Foul Drainage Above Ground
- Central Control/Building Management
- Compressed Air
- Hot and Cold Water
- Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) inc. ISO Clean/Dry Rooms
- Steam
Also, the candidate should be able to:
- Write technical specifications and technical reports
- Technically able to manage a portfolio of engineering projects and able to critique team’s designs
- Manage workload of Graduates, Project Engineers, Senior Engineers, Principal Engineers, across office(s) or designated teams. Coordinate the use of all team workload and resource
- Input be responsible for professional and personal development of team members, team colleague Performance and Development Review (PDR) and mentoring of colleagues
- Keep problem solving and innovation oversight across office(s) or teams
- Ensure team members are fully briefed on project requirements
- Manage business of whole team or office, sales, revenue and commercial aspects
- Prepare and manage fee quotations and scope of teams work by project
- Identify and resolve problems early
- Exhibit active project risk management
- Win and manage business from existing and new clients within existing and potentially, new sectors
- Create and pursue additional client opportunities
- Undertake active modelling, management and teaching of engineering competence
- Oversee and manage all designated team or office projects
- Direct manage, motivate and develop team
- Review and develop application of Rolton ethos
- Oversee and contribute to the full Profit & Loss (P&L) for office or team, pricing, budgets, income and cost management
We are interested in hearing from established and ambitious building services engineering candidates who have been working within building services and specifically a UK-based building services consultancy with at least Ten [10] to Fifteen [15] years ‘hands on’ UK-based design and management experience. The candidate should be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with either the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and possess a building services/architectural engineering degree and/or masters.
The candidate for this position will have a high level of computer literacy, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Autodesk Revit MEP, National Building Specification (NBS) and EDSL Tas/IES VE. The successful candidate will be required to provide support to our other teams and/or offices from time to time.
The ability to operate as part of a wider project team within appropriate authority levels and to represent the company with confidence to a variety of clients and outside organisations is expected. The candidate will have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of one of our dynamic teams with high attention to accuracy and detail.
