Queensgate Award Nomination

The Queensgate Shopping Centre in Peterborough has been shortlisted for the 2013 national SCEPTRE awards under the category of ‘Energy Management Award of the Year’; a prestigious award that recognises best practice within the UK shopping centre industry.

The accolade is well deserved by the centre, which has secured a huge 31% reduction in energy consumption since 2006 by employing a variety of measures.

Our engineers provided electrical engineering services for a project that contributed towards this achievement, designing and replacing 33 year old T12 luminaires within the back-of-house landlord areas with high efficiency and high efficacy T5 equivalents. These new fittings incorporate integral occupancy controls which maintain the lighting at a continuous 10%, illuminating to 100% on occupancy. Energy saving measures such as these have aided the centre in its mission to significantly reduce total energy consumption per annum.

We are proud of our continued involvement with projects at Queensgate Shopping Centre, and are grateful for the kind invitation extended by them to Director Chris Evans and Associate Director Craig Smith in attending the ceremony on 25th June at The Dorchester, London. It is sure to be a great occasion, and we wish the team good luck!
