Light Replacement and Tree Planting

The Rolton Group has recently replaced the lighting in its Higham Ferrers office with low-carbon, motion sensor installations in an effort to further reduce its carbon footprint.

These hi-tech pieces of equipment switch off automatically if they don’t detect any movement, so rooms only light up when they need to.

In addition to these in-house measures, the company has also arranged the planting of young broadleaf trees at Cwm Fagor and Clydach near Devauden in Monmouthshire, Wales. These trees will offset 20 tonnes of CO2 emissions produced by electricity consumed by the lights over the next five years, and each tree that lives for 100 years is forecast to sequester a full tonne of CO2.

The Rolton Group is committed to operating within a paperless and energy efficient environment and we are pleased to demonstrate this ethos through schemes like this.
