Engineering the Future With Northumbria University

Recruiting and nurturing the best talent this industry has to offer is something we at Rolton Group pride ourselves on; our graduates embark upon a development programme that ensures their progression and professional growth through exposure to a variety of sectors and project types, along with the opportunity to rotate across relevant disciplines to develop their holistic understanding of the business.

Crucial to our success in attracting the highest quality employees are the relationships we develop with the UK’s leading universities, and we have ties with several establishments who have proven track records in producing top-calibre graduates who go on to be top-calibre professionals.

Yesterday, we travelled to Northumbria University to meet with students within the Department of Mechanical and Construction Engineering and to introduce them to the business. It was a trip down memory lane for Chairman Peter Rolton, who graduated from the University in 1985! The event was very well-received, as was the news that as of this year we will be offering a work placement role to Northumbria students who are keen to develop their industry knowledge and then apply it to their further studies, as well as opening graduate positions for exceptional individuals who are coming to the end of their time in further education.

In addition, we are delighted to sponsor a prize with the University this year for the ‘Best Built Environment Renewable / Low Carbon Integration Project’, in celebration of the Department’s 50th anniversary, and are looking forward to seeing the innovative concepts that are sure to emerge from the competition!

We’re pleased to have established a link with the Northumbria’s brightest students, some of whom we hope to welcome into our ranks in the coming years.
