Rolton Group Helps Santa to Raise Money for Local Causes

As part of their ongoing support for charities and the local community, the Rolton Group team joined Santa on Tuesday to collect donations for the Rushden Round Table, a sociable and charitable organisation which raises money for local causes and projects.

Rolton Group provided a 4x4 to tow the sleigh, and the team accompanied it around the Barrington area with collection pots in hand. Previous money raised by the Rushden Round Table has been given to organisations and projects such as Rushden Scouts, Child Contact Services, the Rotary Club, the Gent Charity Cycle Ride, as well as many others.

Tuesday was the first leg of Santa’s annual whistle-stop tour of Rushden on behalf of the Round Table. To make the most of the only time of year when he is allowed to be seen, he played his favourite Christmas songs, and waved to the children whilst dancing to Boney M and Chris Rea.

Many thanks to everyone at Rolton Group who came out and endured Santa’s dance moves to raise funds, and to all of the residents who selflessly let the heat out of their houses while they kindly donated. A fantastic total of £445.98 was raised, and the Round Table hope to beat last year’s total of £9000 over the full three weeks.

The Santa float will continue to tour Rushden and Higham Ferrers every Monday to Saturday until the 22nd December. For the planned routes and dates, click here.
