Bacton Low Rise Shortlisted for Industry Awards

Bacton Low Rise Phase 1a has been shortlisted for ‘Building Project of the Year (£10m-£50m)’ in the British Construction Industry (BCI) Awards.

The project has also been shortlisted in the ‘Housing’ category at the New London Awards (architecture), and for the Housing Design Awards.

Rolton Group collaborated with Karakusevic Carson Architects, Rydon Construction and Alan Camp Architects on Phase 1 of this regeneration project, which Cabinet Member for Housing Cllr Julian Fulbrook has described as “a huge step in the regeneration of Gospel Oak”.

Rolton Group provided the civil, structural and building services detailed design, as well as geotechnical engineering services. We have also had particular input into the sustainability element of the project, providing an efficient green heating and hot water system to the new homes, which utilises waste heat from the gas turbine CHP system of a nearby hospital.

Phase 1 opened to residents on the 14th December 2015 and phases 2 and 3 are due to be completed by December 2017.

The winner of ‘Building Project of the Year (£10m-£50m)’ will be announced at the BCI awards evening in October.
