NTU Framework Appointment

We’re delighted to announce that our structural engineering team have recently been appointed to Nottingham Trent University’s consultancy services framework agreement.

Our successful appointment to the five year framework agreement (spanning from 2017 to 2022) in respect of heritage buildings will give Rolton Group the opportunity to continue working with Nottingham Trent University (NTU) in support of the ongoing development and refurbishment of their estates and building stock.

Rolton Group have either been directly appointed, or else have worked as part of a larger NTU design and build project team, in delivering a range of multi-disciplinary engineering services amounting to almost 50 NTU projects since 2005. Over the years, our team have supported the delivery of projects across three Nottingham Trent University campuses (City, Brackenhurst and Clifton), addressing the different specialisms and building challenges presented by each unique location.

The range of projects that our teams have undertaken for Nottingham Trent University over the years is extensive and includes a rounded mix of;

  • New build development (i.e. the two-storey Anthony Nolan Cell Therapy Centre),
  • Extension works (i.e. the ongoing extension and alteration of student spaces and the upgrade and redevelopment works for the sports facilities and associated areas including squash courts, a high performance exercise suite, a human performance laboratory, sports therapy suite and an athlete training kitchen),
  • Conversion and refurbishment works (i.e. the extension and conversion of an existing Toyota Lexus training centre car dealership to create ‘Superlab’ – a new technical teaching facility (which was ‘Highly Commended’ in the 2013 S-Lab awards) for up to 200 students on courses in chemistry and biosciences), and
  • Heritage building works (i.e. the assessment and major refurbishment of the historic Grade II listed building – a former registry office which now forms part of the City Centre campus on Shakespeare Street, Nottingham, and houses meeting rooms, board rooms, event facilities and offices for the Directorate amongst other office spaces).

Andrew Chisem, Director and leader of Nottingham Trent University projects appointed to Rolton Group said:

“It’s great to have been appointed to the consultancy services framework agreement for Nottingham Trent University again and we look forward to continuing our working relationship. We have a wealth of experience working within the education sector and thoroughly enjoy supporting projects that will benefit so many people – from students, lecturers and the local community, right through to some of the top postgraduate researchers in the UK.”
