CERU Presentation

Yesterday (Sunday 26th November 2017) Deputy Managing Director Chris Evans, Chairman Peter Rolton and his son Jack Rolton, had the pleasure of visiting the Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU) in Leamington Spa, where Chris presented a cheque for £6,175 which he raised when completing the Fastnet Challenge.

Back in August Chris and his team completed the Rolex Fastnet Challenge in 4 days and 13 hours. The challenge is considered to be one of the most demanding classic offshore races in the international sailing calendar, spanning 600-nautical miles.

CERU is a specialist Level 1 facility for post-intensive care patients who have suffered serious head trauma and is close to both Chris and Peters’ families. Chris’ son suffered a serious head injury that resulted in a bleed on the brain in a footballing accident four years ago. More recently, Peter’s son Jack received the excellent care given by CERU following a car accident last year.

Chris said,

“It was a privilege to present CERU with a cheque for £6,175. The CERU team do such amazing work and it was uplifting to see their dedication to their patients, and how happy they were to see Jack looking so well. Thank you to everyone who has supported me so generously.”
