Rolton Group Supports Kimbolton School’s HE and Careers Fair

The Rolton Group team supported Kimbolton School’s 2018 Higher Education (HE) and Careers Fair, sharing insights into a range of engineering disciplines with students to help them consider a variety of roles and pathways into careers in engineering.

On Friday 4th May, representatives from various businesses and universities came together to exhibit at the Kimbolton HE and Careers Fair, presenting students with a valuable opportunity to find out more about possible career and higher education options.

Our Chairman Peter Rolton, Director Andrew Chisem and Business Development Executive Jenny Baker were on hand to speak to students about different engineering disciplines, what a career in engineering entails and possible entry routes into the industry.

Head of Careers for Kimbolton School, Alison J. Bates, said:

“I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Rolton Group and to everyone that supported this years’ HE and Careers Fair. We have received such positive feedback from lots of students and their parents and without the generosity of people from various organisations giving up their time, it just would not be possible to organise this sort of event.”

As the UK’s engineering industry continues to face a skills shortage, with Engineering UK estimating an annual shortfall of up to 59,000 engineering graduates and technicians for core engineering roles, Rolton Group recognises the importance of informing the next generation about the benefits that a career in engineering can offer. Participating in careers fairs and speaking to students about the variety of careers available ensures that they are able to make more informed decisions about their education based on their own personal career goals.

Chairman, Peter Rolton, explains:

“Attending careers fairs and other school and college events is just one of many ways in which Rolton Group encourages students to consider careers in engineering. We thoroughly enjoy highlighting the vast array of different careers available in engineering and the construction industry and once again, we were impressed with the enthusiasm and drive of the students at the Kimbolton School Careers Fair.”
