Clayton Achieves Chartership

Congratulations to Associate Director, Clayton Knevitt who has achieved Chartership with the Institute of Structural Engineers (IStructE) and is recognised by the Engineering Council as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).

Chartership with the IStructE is a prestigious and globally recognised qualification that many engineers strive to achieve. In order to become chartered, Clayton was required to collate a portfolio of work, showcasing the projects he has worked on throughout his career. He also had to illustrate how his approach to these projects was in line with the IStructE’s 13 core objectives, which include conceptual design, management skills and commercial awareness. Evidence of his continuing professional development (CPD), structural design experience and knowledge of the wider construction industry was also required.

Clayton also had to complete two essential elements: the Chartered Membership Examination and the Professional Review Interview (PRI). Clayton took his first and only attempt at the seven hour exam in July 2018 and was one of only 34.5% to pass. His PRI took place in November 2018 and he was required to draw on his project experience which included the car dealerships for LSH Auto Properties (UK) Limited in Stockport and Erdington, as well as the Advanced Thermal Treatment (ATT) facility in Hoddesdon.

Delighted by the news of achieving Chartership, Clayton said,

“This is an important milestone in my career, topping off an intense year in 2018 that involved a lot of hard work but resulted in my promotion to Associate Director and status as a Chartered Member of the IStructE. Although I am putting one set of challenges behind me I know that there is still plenty of room to grow, and I look forward to developing and expanding my career into 2019 and beyond.”
