New Associate Director for Rolton Group
We’re delighted to announce that Alec Bell has been promoted to the position of Associate Director, effective as of October 2019.
As Associate Director, Alec will play an integral part in the growth and development of the Peterborough office team and structural engineering services offered by Rolton Group overall.
“As the construction industry continues to change and the UK faces a time of continued uncertainty, quality advice and solid, reliable engineering design is more important than ever,” Alec shares. “I’m excited to get stuck into the new challenges that the role of Associate Director will undoubtedly bring and would like to thank the Rolton Group Board of Directors for putting their trust in me to help further the development of our business.”
Alec has been a great mentor to many engineers at Rolton Group, developing the team and acting as a driving force behind the maintenance and continual improvement of group processes, best practices and the pursuit of engineering excellence.
Paul Housego, Director at Rolton Group, said: “It is pleasing to see Alec’s development over the past few years and I’m very much looking forward to working with him to continue developing and expanding the Peterborough office team. I’m sure everyone will join me and the rest of the Board in congratulating Alec on his well-deserved promotion.”
From joining Rolton Group in 2014 as a Project Engineer, Alec quickly showed his excellent engineering skill and aptitude for leadership and was promoted to the position of Senior Engineer in 2015. With more than a decade of engineering experience developed since graduating from Loughborough University in 2006, Alec is both an Associate Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers and Incorporated Engineer registered with the Engineering Council.
Across his years in the industry, Alec has developed extensive experience within the structural engineering field and takes on a prominent role as trouble-shooter to provide optimal solutions to complex built asset project challenges, servicing clients from a variety of sectors including the likes of Barratt David Wilson Homes, Careys, Lindum Group, Redrow, Jaguar Land Rover and Bloor Homes. Recent projects undertaken by Alec include supporting the development of Graven Hill in Oxfordshire - the UK’s largest self and custom build scheme, progressing foundation designs for several major residential and mixed-use developments and structural designs for a new cinema complex in Suffolk and medical centre in London.
Close to his base at Rolton Group’s Peterborough office in Lynch Wood, Alec has also provided structural engineering support for local projects including the extension of the Oakdale Primary School (opened in September ready for the 2019/20 academic year), development of the new state-of-the-art Willow Court extra care facility at Bassenhally Farm and the ongoing cinema-led extension at Queensgate shopping centre, due to officially open in Spring 2020.
