Rolton Group Strengthens Board with New Non-Executive Director

Rolton Group has strengthened its Board and welcomes seasoned business strategist, Jonathan French.

As of 1st July 2021, highly experienced business strategist, Jonathan French, joined Rolton Group as a Non-Executive Director. Jonathan brings with him over 30 years of experience working within the construction industry, having helped a number of major organisations to achieve outstanding business results.

The appointment builds upon changes to Rolton Group’s management team and several significant business successes for the company, despite the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns, including the recent promotion of Craig Smith to Managing Director, securing office space at prestigious business address, Colmore Row in Birmingham, and the appointment to deliver multi-disciplinary engineering services in support of the £2.6bn development of the UK’s first Gigaplant for electric vehicle battery technology firm, Britishvolt.

Jonathan said of his new position:

“I’m excited to be working with Rolton Group on a number of initiatives across the business to help the leadership team bring its five-year vision for the company to life.

"I’m very passionate about curating organisational cultures that are respectful and collaborative as well as being high performing. In my experience, this is how businesses really thrive. We realised very quickly that my motivations align closely with those of Rolton Group’s leadership and its focus on the importance of people partnership to achieve the best outcomes for the organisation.”

Jonathan’s impressive international track record includes senior ownership of global architectural giant, Woods Bagot, where he and his team successfully delivered major construction projects including, most recently, the quarter of a billion pounds Exhibition and Convention Centre for DWTC as the centrepiece of the Dubai World Expo 2021.

Jonathan continued:

“It’s a privilege to have been trusted with so many influential leadership roles over the course of my career and to be involved now with this next step of Rolton Group’s journey is really interesting.”

Craig Smith, Managing Director of Rolton Group, shared:

“No organisation can afford to just stand still and expect the world and all its opportunities to come to it, especially following such major events as the Covid-19 pandemic. As is true for many businesses, we’ve got strong plans for the future and it’s fantastic to have the support and knowledge of such an acclaimed professional to bolster our team and help us reach our full potential. We’re delighted to welcome Jonathan to the team.”
