As we approach the end of the year and the holidays, we reflect on a year full of expansion and growth and look forward to 2025. With more than 44 years of Rolton this year has seen us developing our business internally and externally, strengthening the board, refreshing the brand, expanding the office network and sharing our thought leadership.
There has never been a more important time for the input of engineers into energy and infrastructure. We see clients with legacy buildings needing our support to develop portfolios fit for the future, complex site selection requirements and the ever more pressing journey towards net zero. With the government firm commitment to renewable energy I believe in sharing our knowledge with clients to help them tackle the challenging issues of the future.
Leadership is fundamental and I am grateful to my board for their long-term commitment to the business. With an objective to grow Rolton we have reinforced our national board bringing to the leadership team a number of new appointments, strengthening and developing a board for the future.
David Lawrence has a successful international career behind him and joined our board to champion our geotechnical, civil and infrastructure engineering team. The foundation of new projects as clients assemble land and resources it’s this early intervention that allows clients to tackle sustainability at the outset.
Keen to develop the Building Services business we were delighted that Andrew Dellow has joined us as Executive director responsible for Strategic Energy, Utilities and Mechanical & Electrical. Andrew’s career focused on working with blue chip clients while leading the development of the London market.
Andrew is leading on our establishment of a London office. This expansion is in line with our strategy to support our clients and to develop the reach of the business from its Peterborough and Higham Ferrers base to the development of new offices in Birmingham, Newcastle and London.
But it’s not just new faces joining the board this year. Clayton Knevitt joined Rolton in 2011 as a structural project engineer. He has risen through the ranks and this year joined our board responsible for structural engineering as well as the company wide CAD/BIM standards and learning & development.
Helen Cadzow joined the board as Director of Sales and Marketing. Known for her work with international investors and developers Helen brings a confidence to expansion and growth.
To reflect our growth, we have refreshed our external image with a new brand. We are now Rolton. Built on a solid foundation, we have evolved to keep our brand modern and relevant. The new visual identity is fresh and vibrant, illustrated in our new website and logo reinforcing our vision ‘Engineering the Future’ our commitment to partnership, people, and the built environment.
Looking to the future of our business we are conscious of the skills gap in the sector as a whole. If we want to deliver the future built environment we need, we must nurture the next generation. With the charity Article 25 our colleague Scarlett Doyle has developed a next generation group. This group is working to engage across the built environment in its charity objectives of designing and constructing high-quality hospitals, schools and homes in the places that need them most.
Through the leadership of Clayton Knevitt we have been developing our CPD training for clients and professional teams to share our knowledge and encourage positive debate. In the new year we continue the thought leadership work with a Rolton Roundtable series leading to co-created white papers. The first is focused on Sustainable Energy and Infrastructure in Inward Investment. We hope to see many of you contributing to this work and do get in touch if you want to input.
This is just a snapshot of some of the growth and development at Rolton. We are grateful to long term clients and business partners collaborated with over the years and welcome new clients and partners in 2024. Thank you for putting your trust in us, we don’t take the responsibility lightly.
We wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and holiday season and we look forward to working with you in 2025.
