Last night saw the 29th annual British Construction Industry Awards take place at Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

These awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the delivery of construction projects across the UK and one of the projects Rolton Group has supported with multi-disciplinary engineering expertise was shortlisted in three separate award categories.

Rolton Group provided geotechnical, energy, mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineering design services for phase 1a of the Bacton Low Rise project. This £50million redevelopment scheme comprises 63 new homes and associated open space and forms part of Camden Council’s Gospel Oak Community Investment Programme, which aims to invest in homes, schools and community facilities.

The Bacton Low Rise Phase 1a project was shortlisted as a finalist in the following BCI Awards 2016 categories;

  • Building Project of the Year (£10m to £50m)
  • Low Carbon Construction Award
  • Community Engagement Award

Even though on the night Bacton Low Rise project wasn’t declared the overall winner in these categories, the whole project team can still celebrate their great achievement in this project being listed as a finalist for multiple categories in such prestigious awards. Well done to all of the project team (which includes the commissioning authority London Borough of Camden, architects Karakusevic Carson Architects and Alan Camp Architects, engineers Rolton Group and the principal contractor Rydon Group) and of course a huge congratulations to all of the BCI Awards winners this year!
