Undergraduate Engineer Philip Mannis is taking on an epic cycling challenge this summer to raise money for The Lymphoma Association.
Philip will be carrying out the London to Paris cycle ride in July, which covers over 300 miles in four days. Commencing in London on the 19th July, Philip’s route will take him to the coast of Calais, through the picturesque countryside of Northern France and the historic towns of Abbeville to Beauvais, with the final push back to Paris.
All donations made to help reach Philip’s fundraising target of £1,500 is for his chosen charity, The Lymphoma Association – a wonderful charity that provides vital support and care to people that are diagnosed with lymphatic cancer; the fifth most common cancer in the UK. This cause is close to Philip’s heart after his mother was diagnosed at the beginning of 2016. He has seen first-hand how The Lymphoma Association has provided endless support and care for his mum and was keen to do something to help support the charity.
Philip Mannis commented:“I’m very excited to be taking on the London to Paris cycle challenge. It’ll be a very long and difficult ride, but I’ve been putting in the hours training to make sure I feel fully prepared, and I am becoming a familiar sight on my bike around the local countryside. The Lymphoma Association is a charity which gives great support to people suffering from Lymphoma and their loved ones, and I hope that people will support me in raising as much money as I can for such a worthwhile charity.”
With just one month to go, Philip has successfully raised 80% of his fundraising target.
