Ecobuild is now in its 11th year, and from humble beginnings it has grown into an annual highlight for professionals in the sustainability sector who are keen to gain an understanding of the latest technology, innovation, and thought leadership.
Its significant expansion in recent years reflects the broader development of the clean energy industry, which has gone from strength to strength in the last decade; indeed, the event now attracts political party leaders, esteemed academics, and respected leaders of industry, all of whom attend to take part in seminars and conferences that cover a broad range of topics.
Rolton Group attended Ecobuild on its opening day, bearing witness to several lively debates between the sector’s professionals, politicians, and academics during several panel discussions held to explore areas such as ‘Is low carbon a vote loser?’ and ‘Happiness by design: how the built environment drives feelings and behaviour’. Ed Davey MP, Secretary of State for the Department of Energy and Climate Change, gave a rousing keynote speech in which he highlighted the green achievements of the incumbent government. His message was clear: great strides have been made towards lowering the UK’s carbon footprint, but there is still a long way to go.
Events such as Ecobuild are a reminder of the impressive work that has been done so far to make Britain cleaner and greener, and we at Rolton Group are proud to remain ahead of the curve when it comes to utilising the latest in technological innovation, legislative changes, and sector expertise. Sustainability is no longer an optional extra, and we integrate it wherever possible into each of our projects to ensure we continue to add the best value for our clients.
