Whether it is offering work placement opportunities for undergraduates, supporting apprenticeships, enabling the study of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degrees as well as other studies towards gaining professional qualifications and chartership, at Rolton Group we do our utmost to support and inspire the next generation.

With apprenticeships increasingly becoming a more attractive alternative for school leavers to the traditional university route, we saw our first intake of apprentices back in 2015. We’re very proud to say that both Tom Bishop and Charlotte Nimmo have now successfully completed their apprenticeships and following their achievements, we are delighted to announce that two new apprentices have joined our successful team.

Charlotte Davies and Eloise Slade have joined our Higham Ferrers office as Business Administration Apprentices. These apprenticeships offer structured on-the-job training within an educational framework, supported by the local Tresham College in Northamptonshire.

Eager to begin her career and gain practical experience, Charlotte said;

“After gaining my GCSEs, I decided that an apprenticeship was the way forward for me. University never really interested me because I like the idea of learning in a practical environment. An apprenticeship gives me the opportunity to gain the necessary qualifications, in addition to experience and insight into a job role that those who leave university may not have. Apprenticeships are also loan free, which is an added bonus!”

Like Charlotte, Eloise left school after her GCSEs to start an apprenticeship. She said;

“I chose an apprenticeship because it gives you the experience and confidence, while still achieving the necessary qualifications.”

We are proud of our apprenticeship schemes as they offer an alternative and practical method for the next generation to become fully qualified in their careers, while gaining valuable experience within the workplace.

Craig Smith, Director responsible for internal training at Rolton Group, said:

“I am very excited to see our new apprentices join the team. Building our business from the bottom up is key to the ongoing success and sustainability of our engineering resource. We aim with all of our people to support them with their academic and continued professional development and to ensure they reach their full potential which may lead to a recognised career specific qualification – including to degree level and beyond.”
