On the 24th August, good friend of the Rolton Group Nick Blount took on the enormous challenge of swimming the 10.5 mile length of Lake Windermere, starting at Fell Foot and finishing at Ambleside.

His courageous act was undertaken in memory of a good friend and colleague who lost his fight against cancer last year, and the swim raised an impressive total of £4252.65 plus gift aid for Cranley Hospice and Cancer Research UK. Nick completed the feat in just over 7 and a half hours; having worked with his company RF Blount and Sons for many years, we were very proud to sponsor him, and are delighted at his achievement.
