Retail delivery and fit out projects at Peterborough’s Queensgate Shopping Centre have been progressing at pace, and we are delighted to see that the completed Pret-A-Manger shop is now open to the public.
This fresh food outlet is only the sixth in the UK to feature the new store layout and menu, and it continues to build on the brand’s strong reputation for using natural and fresh ingredients that give ‘fast food’ a completely new, healthy meaning!
Rolton Group provided mechanical, electrical, civil and structural engineering services for the project, covering both the landlord pre-fitout enabling works and post-completion retail delivery check and approval process.
The project proved challenging as the new unit is based upon an amalgamation of two previously occupied smaller demise retail footprints. Both structure and MEP services had to be surveyed in detail to ensure that the proposed revised general arrangement for Pret-A-Manger would work whilst ensuring that the services infrastructure to the unit would serve the new tenant but offer the ability to ‘split’ the unit again in the future should this be required for optimum landlord flexibility.
