In support of the launch of the BV FutureGen Foundation, Rolton Group were headline sponsors for Britishvolt’s inaugural corporate charity golf event, held at Longhirst Hall Golf Club, Northumberland.

The £10,000 sponsorship from Rolton Group, alongside sponsorships and participation from many others such as ISG, Ridge and Partners LLP, NG Bailey, EY, Careys and Siemens to name a few, supported the event which saw colleagues, project partners and friends share a fantastic day together with the Britishvolt team to raise funds for the new BV FutureGen Foundation.

The BV FutureGen Foundation has been launched to support and develop the communities closest to where Britishvolt’s facilities will be located. The charity golf event held on Sunday 19th September has helped raise funds for causes local to Britishvolt’s new Gigaplant in Cambois, Northumberland, such as the Northumberland Domestic Abuse Service, the Cambois First school and the Silx Youth Project based in Blyth.

After golf throughout the day, guests celebrated the launch of the charitable foundation into the evening with dining, music and a charity auction and raffle. Speeches were given by Peter Rolton, UK CEO for Britishvolt and Chairman of Rolton Group and Tracy Machnicki, Social Values Manager for Britishvolt and Managing Director of the BV FutureGen Foundation, expressing heartfelt thanks to all in attendance, celebrating Britishvolt’s recent successes and demonstrating their commitments to levelling up the area moving forward.

Project Director for Rolton Group, Allan Rose, said of the occasion:

“We are proud to have been headline sponsors for Britishvolt’s inaugural charity golf event 2021. The generosity of everyone who attended, sponsored and donated will benefit the lives of so many by helping the Northumberland Domestic Abuse Service, Cambois First School, Silx Youth Project and the Britishvolt FutureGen Foundation continue their excellent work to provide vital services and support to the local community.

“As the lead engineers for the development of Britishvolt’s Gigaplant in Cambois – a project which received unanimously approved planning permission in the summer and saw advanced enabling works being on site earlier this month – we are extremely proud to be part of such a significant project for the North East and UK automotive industry; delivering a facility which will be instrumental in establishing the UK as a leader in electric vehicle battery technology.

“I hope that everyone who took part had a successful and enjoyable day (and that the golf was not too frustrating!)”

A final total for funds raised from the charity golf event is not yet available, though the day itself was a huge success. Well done and thank you to all involved.
