Alec has developed his career at Rolton for over 10 years starting as a structural project engineer before progressing to Board Director. His passion for sustainability ensures customer driven solutions using new technologies and construction methodologies ensure we build a sustainable future.

He has a pragmatic approach which guarantees practical, buildable solutions whilst ensuring the efficiency of the proposed design. His skill set promotes the integration of innovative foundation design solutions, bridging the gap between in-house structural and geo-technical teams, thus enabling a smooth, efficient delivery of multi-disciplinary projects.

His experience and expertise provide complex solutions tailored to individual customers. He combines strong project management skills with a practical, collaborative approach to ensure client objectives are always met.

Alec has specialist knowledge of the retail sector; he leads projects where Rolton have been the incumbent engineer for over 30 years for several shopping centres across the UK.  He is vastly experienced in the education sector and most recently was the project lead on the first Net Zero Carbon school in the UK. The invaluable knowledge gained on this, and similar projects, is a key driver for his sustainable perspective which he applies across all projects.

Head of the Quality Environmental Management Systems (QEMS), Alec enforces compliance with our ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 compliant QEMS procedures. He also oversees our internal management systems with the focus on exceptional quality through the use of rigorous management procedures. The processes Alec upholds are key to maintaining the exceptional quality of Rolton output.

Alec has experience managing a large range of projects across the automotive, industrial, education, residential and retail sectors. As Director he efficiently manages the structural team to instil his mentality of collaboration, sustainability and innovative thinking throughout the team to ensure the provision of effective solutions for all our clients.

Rolton is pleased to have contributed to the newly launched industry report, ‘Built Environment Strategic Workforce Planning for 2030’.

The comprehensive publication stems from the latest INSPIRE event hosted by the Built Environment Futures Assembly (BEFA). This powerful leadership forum was established by the University of the Built Environment (UBE) to break down professional silos, spark collaboration, and drive excellence across engineering, construction, and real estate.
