David is an acknowledged sustainability leader and expert in the design and development of decentralised energy systems.

He is a qualified physicist and energy engineer with more than 35 years’ experience working with energy systems for major clients. He holds an engineering doctorate, and is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Energy Institute and a Chartered Energy Engineer.

David previously worked as a professional physicist for the UK Atomic Energy Authority, and founded Sonas Energy to provide support for decentralised energy systems. For the last three years, he has been working as chief scientific officer to decarbonise the HGV transport sector, and has developed an AI predictive controller concept to lower the total cost of ownership.

As an energy and sustainability specialist, he directed the energy division for a leading international, multi-disciplinary engineering firm developing energy strategy and solutions for major end-user and developer clients.
