Acting as Technical Government Advisor on the UK’s Renewables Advisory Board, Peter provided advice and consultancy presenting several white papers to the Secretary of State on the subject of renewable planning and public sector engagement. He is an acknowledged specialist in the renewable energy sector, and for good reason: when it comes to energy, Peter is clear about the issues we face and the need for a cohesive strategy to tackle them.
With Peter’s technical expertise, as Government Advisor for Business, Energy, & Industry Strategy (BEIS) he led the planning of the UK’s first-ever Gigaplant Factory in Northumbria, on the former Blyth coal store/Power Station site. This success was a testament to the sheer magnitude of hard work that goes into an SI/GI project, researching ground and environmental factors for the site, within the clients scale and ambitious timetable of four months. Peter advised for the application, leveraging his local knowledge and existing relationships with government, social and educational stakeholders.
Peter holds expertise in the areas of site-wide energy planning, zero carbon power generation, low carbon design, carbon offsetting and the application of renewable technology.
