Mental Health Awareness Week
13 May 2024David Beeny has been influential in supporting our employees on the importance of removing the stigma of mental health in the workplace and we were proud to be his first client.
Graduating from the University of Northumbria in 1985 with a BSc in Building Services Engineering, Peter a Chartered Building Services Engineer, Chartered European Engineer is an acknowledged specialist in building services, mechanical and energy engineering disciplines.
As a Chartered Member of the Institute of Energy, Peter has gained accreditation under the Carbon Trust Consultant Accreditation Scheme for solution development and establishment of energy strategies. His articles have been published by Energy World and Professional Engineer magazines, amongst various other news outlets.
He founded his first business, Rolton Services Consultants Limited, in 1989. In 2006, Peter also co-founded Cool Planet Technologies, a specialist ground source heat pump company which was sold to British Gas in 2010. He has been the architect of the path through which Rolton addressed the challenges of renewables, carbon, and the built environment.
Acting as Technical Government Advisor on the UK’s Renewables Advisory Board, Peter provided advice and consultancy presenting several white papers to the Secretary of State on the subject of renewable planning and public sector engagement. He is an acknowledged specialist in the renewable energy sector, and for good reason: when it comes to energy, Peter is clear about the issues we face and the need for a cohesive strategy to tackle them.
With Peter’s technical expertise, as Government Advisor for Business, Energy, & Industry Strategy (BEIS) he led the planning of the UK’s first-ever Gigaplant Factory in Northumbria, on the former Blyth coal store/Power Station site. This success was a testament to the sheer magnitude of hard work that goes into an SI/GI project, researching ground and environmental factors for the site, within the clients scale and ambitious timetable of four months. Peter advised for the application, leveraging his local knowledge and existing relationships with government, social and educational stakeholders.
Peter holds expertise in the areas of site-wide energy planning, zero carbon power generation, low carbon design, carbon offsetting and the application of renewable technology.
