Rolton was appointed to provide Mechanical & Electrical (MEP) engineering design services for the refurbishment of the restaurant and dining area at the Ford Dunton Technical Centre in Essex, where the site has seen significant transformation, consolidating its UK Headquarters.
Originally contracted solely for the seating area, thanks to the quality of work presented, Rolton also undertook a far wider remit to provide engineering services for the restaurant kitchen, dining, breakout and concourse areas as part of the refurbishment project. By including breakout space as well as dining space, the facility is a modern and vibrant hub, where staff can hold meetings, eat and socialise.
Rolton also provided support to Principal Designer and Project Manager, Arcadis throughout the procurement process for contractors; reviewing proposals and design information to help inform appointment decisions.
Our paper begins with a fundamental truth – that if we are to have the energy we need to ‘power the 2035 industrial and data-driven revolution’, we need to focus on delivering sustainable energy and infrastructure for the UK.
