S.A. Damm completed the acquisition of the Eagle Brewery from Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company in Bedford becoming their first overseas brewery outside the Iberian Peninsula, with a production capacity of 1 million hectolitres per year. The agreement represented a key milestone in their internationalisation strategy, with 30% of the company’s activity outside of Spain, with brands in over 130 countries.
Our professional engineering service encompasses technical design including Civil, Structural, Strategic Energy and MEP solutions in conjunction with pre-construction advice. Rolton provided guidance for our Spanish client ensuring compliance with UK industry standards and best practice for the redevelopment of existing space for commercial occupancy, with further potential developments of the site adjacent to the factory.
Arranged over ground, first and second floor levels the Eagle building has a floor area circa 1,440m2. Our technical redesign provided plans for the construction of an open plan office, cellular offices and meeting rooms with state-of-the-art facilities. The production facilities included water treatment areas, brewhouse, laboratories, storage and chemical treatment areas.
Working with Dorchester Living, Rolton has developed an ambitious new energy strategy that combines digital innovation, embedded renewable energy, and a clear trajectory towards net zero for their Heyford Park development in Oxfordshire.
This year Centreco, a UK leading commercial solar energy system design, installation and management organisation are exhibiting and sponsoring for the first time and have invited Rolton to partner in providing their thinking and content for two sessions focused on energy and technology, bringing thinking around this topic to the show.
IMPACT Magazine recently featured Rolton Chair, Peter Rolton and our white paper “Powering the 2035 Industrial and Data-Driven Revolution” which calls for the energy and real estate worlds to coalesce to attract the investment for infrastructure the UK needs.
