£18.2 million project at Stratford Waterfront for Podium, Public Realm and Retail (PPRR) hard and soft landscaping, to create modern and inclusive external areas for London’s new major creative and cultural hub, East Bank.

Forming part of the £1.1bn East Bank project for mixed-use redevelopment in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Rolton was appointed as Lead Consultant.

  • 23,640m2 of hard and soft landscaping across the Waterfront Works, Podium Works and Stratford Walk areas
  • Public realm landscaping and infrastructure including steps, seating, walkways, balustrades, decorative planting, drainage and external terrace areas
  • External terrace areas on the UAL building are 12-14 storeys up, creating useful outdoor space at height with excellent views
  • Fully BIM compliant model used to communicate details in a 3D format, co-ordinating BIM information produced by multiple suppliers and interfacing with BIM models for the multiple major buildings in the overall East Bank development
  • Workloads prioritised to ensure any items with longer lead-times like precast units or bespoke furniture were delivered onsite to meet the project programme.

Our team managed RIBA Stage 5 & 6, co-ordinating design models and construction details providing engineering support to the wider onsite team during installation, to help translate complex civil and structural designs for a practical approach
