Delivering energy savings whilst maintaining a pleasing aesthetic has shaped the role of MEP engineers – specialists who play a vital role in the success of built environment and construction projects.

Our MEP advice, design and Technical Advisor (TA) duties are undertaken with our clients, stakeholder and end-user experience firmly in mind. Convenience and aesthetics are twinned with high-performance technology to ensure buildings meet our client’s aspirations and are efficient and as low energy as possible.

Whether new build, retrofit, extension or full refurbishment, we can apply our MEP capability, experience and strategies from feasibility stage, through to technical design, including support through; construction, commissioning, handover & close out and in use as part of the post-occupancy evaluation.

The requirement to minimise energy usage within buildings calls for a methodology which considers fabric heat losses, daylight calculations, internal lighting efficiency, airtightness of the envelope, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system type and efficiency. We assess all the options to make sure that clients are fully aware of the variety of choices they have; ensuring all information is provided clearly so that with our support, our clients can assess the possibilities and make informed decisions for the benefit of the long-term stability of their businesses as well as the environment.

Our team typically offer the following MEP services:

  • Low and Net Zero Carbon (NZC) report work
  • MEP focussed decarbonisation design
  • Performance (for Design and Build (D&B) procurement) and Technical (for Traditional procurement) design
  • Dynamic Simulation Modelling (DSM) inc. Part L Analysis & Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
  • Heat gain/loss analysis
  • Building performance/physics
  • Lighting design
  • Climate Based Daylight Assessment (CBDA) and solar design
  • Air quality
  • Pre-feasibility and feasibility studies
  • Survey & report work including Pre-Acquisition, Acquisition, Condition, Compliance, Technical Due Diligence (TDD) and Dilapidation
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) survey and report work
  • Technical Advisor (TA) and expert witness
  • Low Voltage (LV) strategy
  • High Voltage (HV) strategy
  • Public and private utility supplies, planning & network design, including Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging (EVC) infrastructure
  • Masterplanning advice

Our MEP, Strategic Energy & Utilities and Vertical Transportation (VT) teams work seamlessly with each other to provide a holistic approach and technical implementation.
