Alec Bell
As Associate Director, Alec plays an integral part in the growth and development of the Peterborough office team and structural engineering services offered by Rolton Group overall. He is a mentor to many engineers at Rolton Group, developing the team and acting as a driving force behind the maintenance and continual improvement of group processes, best practices and the pursuit of engineering excellence.
Across his years in the industry, Alec has developed extensive experience within the structural engineering field and takes on a prominent role as trouble-shooter to provide optimal solutions to complex built asset project challenges, servicing clients from a variety of sectors including the likes of Barratt David Wilson Homes, Careys, Lindum Group, Redrow, Jaguar Land Rover and Bloor Homes. Projects undertaken by Alec include supporting the development of Graven Hill in Oxfordshire - the UK’s largest self and custom build scheme, progressing foundation designs for several major residential and mixed-use developments and structural designs for a new cinema complex in Suffolk and medical centre in London.
From joining Rolton Group in 2014 as a Project Engineer, Alec quickly showed his excellent engineering skill and aptitude for leadership and was promoted to the position of Senior Engineer in 2015 and Associate Director in 2019. With more than a decade of engineering experience developed since graduating from Loughborough University in 2006, Alec is both an Associate Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers and Incorporated Engineer registered with the Engineering Council.
