CityBar - City University Student Union

We have been in partnership with the establishment for more than five years, providing engineering services on schemes worth tens of millions of pounds in total and as such we have an ingrained understanding not only of the sites themselves but also what is important to the University and its students.

Recently our team has provided performance design to Stage E of mechanical and electrical building services for their new student union, CityBar, and we are pleased to see the finished article is now open for business.

The renovated union is a place in which students can relax and meet with friends to enjoy sports screenings, live events, and games of pool, or make themselves at home in one of the comfortable new booths. The social space has been designed with flexibility in mind and can be divided into different areas to accommodate several events simultaneously to cater for every taste. Rolton Group provided services relating to the lighting, sound, energy efficiency, fire strategy, digital security, and connectivity between the bar tills and the kitchen.

We hope the students enjoy their newly upgraded union, and that it is host to plenty of memorable events.
