What we do

Geotechnical & Environmental

Rolton Group provides a comprehensive service for the investigation, assessment, and remediation of contaminated land. We understand the environmental legislation which imposes obligations on clients, and the commercial issues associated with acquiring and redeveloping brownfield sites.

A truly multi-disciplinary and integrated team comprised of geologists and engineering geologists, geotechnical engineers, environmental chemists, and specialist risk assessors offers clients a unique combination of knowledge and practical experience which can 'unlock' the value inherent in derelict and contaminated sites in a timely and cost-effective manner.

From initial pre-acquisition screening and due diligence studies through to remediation, validation, and regulatory 'sign-off,' Rolton Group has the expertise and experience to guide our clients through the redevelopment process.

Of particular importance is the fact that key members of the team maintain close working relationships with the Environment Agency's regional staff and local authority contaminated land officers. This ensures that time spent seeking feedback on site investigation reports and negotiating 'clean-up' levels is kept to a minimum, thereby reducing the potential impact on the overall development programme.

The geo-environmental team offer the following services:

  • Desk study and site reconnaissance
  • Intrusive ground investigation
  • Soil, water and human health risk assessment
  • Soil and groundwater remediation
  • Post-remediation monitoring
