City University Law School Grand Opening

Vice-Chancellor Paul Curran cut the ribbon yesterday on City University London’s relocated Law School, celebrating the department’s move to the City Innovation Centre building from the adjacent Gloucester Building, and the main Law School library from Level 4 of the main Northampton Square site.

The Rolton Group provided M&E services for the project, which called for the remodelling and refurbishment of the space to make it ready for occupation by the Law Department and library whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the active campus. Our engineers completed a detailed design scheme up to RIBA Stage E for development by the contractor, and provided new offices, social spaces and study areas across three storeys.

Associate Director Craig Smith says of the project:

“It is superb to see this refurbished facility up and running, capped off by the official opening ceremony yesterday. It is ultimately rewarding to work on a project from feasibility through to completion and to actually see the spaces occupied and being used by students day to day.”
