Jaguar Land Rover - DecEx, Gaydon

Rolton Group’s history with Jaguar Land Rover’s Group Design and Engineering Centre (GDEC) spans back to its original construction in the mid-1990s; we provided multi-disciplinary engineering services for this landmark project and won ‘Lighting Designer of the Year’ for our work, one of several national accolades the building was awarded.

DecEx, the recently announced extension to GDEC that will be completed in August 2015, is the first to have been built since the original was constructed and will expand Jaguar Land Rover’s office space for engineering teams on-site, providing facilities for the offices, meeting rooms, a café and ancillary support areas. We are proud to announce that Rolton Group will provide building services engineering services for this £5 million, four-storey development as part of Briggs and Forester’s team for Miller Construction.

We will be looking at the energy efficiency of the scheme, particularly in comparison to the original build of which we have expert knowledge, and also the potential for introduction of renewable technologies, utilisation of waste heat and system upgrades. The project was won against stiff competition and our knowledge of the existing scheme and methods to improve it was instrumental in securing the appointment; we look forward to being part of this next phase of Jaguar Land Rover’s growth in the UK.
