Planning Success For LSH Auto Properties (UK) HQ

We’re delighted to announce that plans for the new £20million LSH Auto Properties (UK) headquarters in Solihull have been granted full planning permission.

Detailed designs for what will surely become an iconic landmark in the area were granted full planning consent in a determination made earlier this month by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council, with many councillors speaking in support of the scheme.

Paul Franklin, Property Manager for LSH Auto Properties (UK), said:

“This brand new scheme is an exciting new venture that really showcases what LSH Auto Properties (UK) is all about. More than just a showroom and office space, we will be providing staff and customers alike with an enjoyable environment reflective of our brand. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the project team for all of their hard work in making this possible.”

Rolton Group’s civil and structural engineering teams have delivered a variety of services in support of this project to date, including a flood risk assessment and complete drainage strategy for the site as well as structural feasibility studies and designs. Working closely with the architect and project team, Rolton Group supported the development of the concept design from a civil and structural perspective, including liaison with other disciplines.

Now, Rolton Group and the wider project team are delivering detailed design services for the project to help bring this impressive scheme to life.

This stunning four-storey design comprises commercial office space to form a central headquarters for LSH Auto Properties (UK), 30 car showroom, AMG centre, used car showroom with capacity to display 100 cars, a 20 bay workshop, drive-in service facility and electric vehicle centre to support the launch of new vehicle ranges anticipated in 2019. In addition to this blend of workshop, office, customer experience and sales spaces, an on-site gym for staff members will be available.

Careful consideration has been given to aesthetics, staff and customer wellbeing and environmental factors, leading to this show-stopping scheme including beautiful rooftop gardens spaces and smartly landscaped surroundings. Inside, a planted living wall and water features amongst dozens of new cars on show will be sure to bring a ‘wow’ factor to every visit.

Andrew Chisem, Director of Rolton Group said:

"Thanks to our strengths in both the automotive and retail sectors, we find ourselves working more regularly on projects for automotive retail facilities – though none quite like this! Our multi-disciplinary team and varied cross-sector experience have been a great asset, combining our knowledge of accommodating high loads (supporting equipment, cars, multiple building storeys, etc., typically seen through engineering for automotive and industrial clients) with our expertise in aiding the development of retail destinations and aesthetically pleasing places that suit client and end-user needs.

“It’s an absolute pleasure working on this project and we were very pleased to see the scheme achieve detailed planning consent. We look forward to continuing to work with LSH Auto Properties (UK) and to watching this very special scheme progress over the next few years.”

This exciting new project will be developed on a brownfield site of approximately 1Ha. An existing, dated office building currently in place will be demolished in early 2018, to allow on-site works to progress.
