Riverside Heights, Norwich

Riverside Heights is a phased residential development as part of the ongoing regeneration of the Norwich Riverside area.

Taylor Wimpey appointed Rolton Group to provide mechanical and electrical performance design and SAP assessment services for the secondphase of this exciting development, which is known as Allison Bank.

The development provides sustainable, high-density, high-quality housing with more than 300 apartments, built in five separate phases along the river bank.

The site is located between the River Wensum and Norwich City football club’s Carrow Road stadium. The three buildings of Allison Bank house studio, one- and two- and three-bedroom apartments and three-storey penthouse apartments, all with large glazed areas giving good light levels within the courtyard elevations and views down the river for the south elevation.

As part of the low-carbon strategy and to ensure Building Regulations Part L compliance, louvres and brise soleil provide solar shading to the exposed westerly and southerly aspects of the buildings. High insulation values and air-tightness detailing minimise heat losses from the apartments. Heating is provided by under-floor systems, with individual room thermostat controls for each room.

Rolton Group produced EPCs (energy performance certificates) for each apartment
